José Miguel Júdice received in July in Lisbon the "Chambers Lifetime Achievement Award" due mostly to “a lengthy track record acting in high profile arbitration mandates”. A former member of the Portuguese High Council of the Judiciary and President of the Portuguese Bar Association, he is also a member of ICSID Roster of Arbitrators and Conciliators and of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. Júdice stated that “I could not expect a better accolade in my last year as lawyer and before making the move to fully concentrate my future professional activity in acting as independent arbitrator. As a lawyer I have always been a team builder and this award is also received on behalf of the outstanding PLMJ Dispute Resolution Team and of the Portuguese practitioners as a whole”. Judice is from 2006 the only Portuguese Lawyer to receive this award.
