Following the declarations of the Medically Assisted National Procreation Counsel’s President (28th of July edition of the Expresso) on the legality of the practice and technical means used for this purpose in face the lack of regulation of the applicable law, the Expresso wanted to hear both PLMJ Equity Partner and Founder José Miguel Júdice’s and the Firm’s Senior Associate Paula Martinho da Silva’s opinion.
According to José Miguel Júdice, although the general understanding tends to consider these practices and techniques illegal, one should ponder on the possibility of applying the law considering what is foreseen for its regulation.
Paula Martinho the Silva who presides currently the Ethics National Committee alerts, on the other hand, for the cautiousness with which one should handle this matter in view of the great number of persons already involved in this procreation system.
