World Conflict Resolution Day is celebrated on 15 October and this year it will be dedicated to the importance of arbitration and mediation for the European Union’s citizens and companies. The day will be marked in Lisbon by the international conference “Mediation and Arbitration: The New Tools for Empowering Citizens in the European Union”.
José Miguel Júdice, PLMJ founding partner, Portuguese Arbitration Association board member and member of ICC International Court of Arbitration is one of the guest speakers.
The conference will feature Lawrence Susskind as guest of honour and keynote speaker. Susskind is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston and founder of the Harvard Law Faculty’s Negotiation Programme.
World Conflict Resolution Day will also be marked on the 16 October by a one-day Seminar/Workshop devoted to “PPPs - Public Private Partnerships and Environmental Issues: A Practical Workshop on Consensus Buildings and Mutual Gains Negotiations” which will also be honoured by the presence of Professor Susskind.
The events will take place at the rectory of Universidade Nova de Lisboa at the Campolide Campus in Lisbon.
