José Miguel Júdice was the speaker invited for the opening of the Cycle of Conferences entitled” New Challenges for the Portuguese Law” which will last until the 3^rd of July 2006.

The intervention treated several issues related to the Portuguese Law focusing specially matters like the functioning of courts, the strengthening of the idea of a State of Law, the struggle against corruption, the strengthening of the social cohesion and the factors intensifying the competitiveness of Portugal.
